Bharatanatyam Arangetram Performance of kumari Prisha Dhawan a disciple of Acharya Tripti Kalra and d/o Smt. Bhawna, and Sameer Dhawan. It is the aspiration of every student of Bharatanatyam to perform her Arangetram in front of a cultured audience.

It is the day when she brings to the fore all the talent to show the technique of Bharatanatyam encompassing nritta, nritya, natya and abhinaya. On this day she performs the full margam- a set of Bharatanatyam pieces starting from invocation to thillana.

Guru

Acharya Tripti Kalra has been teaching Bharatanatyam for more than over a decade.
A disciple of Guru Smt. Kanaka Sudhakar (Delhi), she has choreographed and presented many innovative items in Bharatanatyam and won appreciation.

She is the Director of Nischchintam Dance and Music Academy, affiliated to the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyala Mandal, Miraj. Though born and brought up in North Indian culture she has amalgamated into the classical dance of Bharatanatyam which is the oldest dance traditions nurtured in the temples of southern India since the ancient era.

She is an artiste and teacher of Bharatanatyam par excellence. Acharya Tripti Kalra has also done numerous workshops under the able guidance and tutelage of Kalaimamani Guru Madurai R Muralidharan and is learning Margam under the guidance of Kavya Muralidharan, daughter and disciple of Kalaimamani Guru Madurai r Muralidharan.

Acharya Tripti Kalra has been recently affiliated with “Guru Samman Vibhuti” at the International festival at Singapore, in May 2019.

She was also associated with the Delhi Government and has tutored numerous underprivileged students studying in the School of Excellence in the art of Bharatanatyam.

Since the past two years she has been associated with Heart care foundation run by Dr. KK Agarwal and is also the co sponsor of the health mela cultural wing organised by them.

She is also a diligent member and supporter of ANHLGT- an association for the women empowerment and cleaner and safer dwarka.

She plays an active role in all their endeavors. She is currently pursuing her PHD in Bharatanatyam from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata and is working as an assistant professor for performing arts at Delhi teachers training college, G.G.S. Indraprastha University.

Prisha

Prisha Dhawan, a Class X student of Maxfort School Dwarka, New Delhi, has been keenly learning Bharatanatyam under the able guidance of Acharya Tripti Kalra for the past 9 years.

She has been performing with the Institute- Nishchintam Dance and Music Academy, in all their performances held at different levels at different points of time.

She is a visharad level shishya and is a distinction holder at madhyama poorna level. She has been a section topper in Academics and has keen interest in debating- in which she has won – many Gold and Silver medals at World Scholars’ Cup.

Her performance is marked with Clarity, fluid expression, crisp footwork and intense involvement. She has participated at various inter-national, national and state level competitions and has been the recipient of many prestigious awards.

She has received “Shaurya Pravah (Vaibhav)” at the International festival held at Singapore in May 2019. She recently secured Diamond Level in the Indian Classical Dance category by “ Goonje Taraana” which is the unit of the Indian Classical Music. This was an online competition, held in June 2020.

She also secured 1st position, in Nritya Sudha (Vande Mataram) in online Inter School competition “SPANDAN” organized by Red Roses Public School- D Block Saket, New Delhi, in August 2020.

She secured 2nd position, in Bharatanatyam Dance- junior level in “Nartiki” – an online dance competition organized by Nishchintam Dance and Music Academy on the occasion of World Dance Day 2020.
